Chain Link

The most common kind of commercial fencing, chain link fences are weather and rust resistant. They are made up of steel that has a protective galvanized coating. Barbed wire and razor ribbon can be added as an additional protective measure.

Vinyl-Coated Chain Link

Vinyl-coated chain link fences are essentially the same as a regular chain link fence except that they have a vinyl coating on the outside. The vinyl coating comes in a variety of colors such as black, brown, and green. The purpose of the vinyl coating on the fence is aesthetic, as it provides a nicer appearance.

Privacy Slat

With a privacy slat fence, a chain link fence is installed. After the installation, plastic slats are inserted through the fence’s openings. These slats provide extra security, protection from the elements, and additional privacy. For aesthetic purposes, privacy slats come in different colors.

Vinyl

There are numerous types of vinyl fencing to meet your commercial needs. They tend to be strong and low-maintenance, resistant to impact, as well as unlikely to chip, rot, fade, or need repair. Vinyl fencing can come in a variety of styles, such as privacy fencing, picket fencing, or solid fencing.

Wood

While usually used for residential properties, wood fencing can be a great option for commercial properties as well. By using pressure-treated or cedar wood, you can give your business an attractive privacy fence that is simple to care for.

Ornamental - Iron

Iron ornamental fencing comes in a variety of styles to best suit your business’ aesthetic while also providing excellent security and requiring little maintenance. Iron fencing is durable, elegant, and makes a great choice for any business looking to maintain a professional look while also securing their property.

Ornamental - Aluminum

There are many great styles of aluminum ornamental fencing. They serve a dual purpose of providing low-maintenance, weather-resistant security while also creating a distinguished look for the commercial property.

Pool Fencing

If your commercial property includes a pool, you may need to have a pool fence installed around it for safety reasons, as well as to keep unauthorized people from using it. In fact, pool fencing is a code requirement in many states, so make sure you know your state’s status surrounding pools.

Why does my commercial property need a fence?

Security

Security is usually the first reason that people will install fencing around their business. Considering cost as well as effectiveness, chain-link fencing is generally considered the best fence for commercial purposes. Avoid solid barriers when erecting security fences. While a visual barrier is desirable when erecting privacy walls, it is counterproductive for security fences by offering intruders an easy place to hide.  The primary benefit of chain-link fence, strong yet see-through, makes it most effective for security purposes. For the same reason, ornamental fence also makes fine security fence. However, while wrought iron is much more attractive than chain-link fencing, it is also much more expensive.

Privacy

Depending on the type of business you own, privacy might be an issue. A business owner located in a residential community may seek the privacy and appearance of privacy board on wood fence or vinyl fence. Shopping areas that are adjacent to residential settings often use these. This can also be the case for business owners like lawyers or accountants who would like to ensure privacy for their clients. It can also be true if you own an apartment building or multi-use space.

Should I consider access control for my commercial property?

When putting a fence around your property, you have the option to choose one with gated access. This is a great option for businesses that have frequent external visitors because you can control who you allow onto the property. Businesses that have confidential or hazardous materials on-site may benefit from this type of gated access. If your business is located in a heavily trafficked area, it will also prevent people from utilizing your property as a cut-through, either by car or by foot. In turn, this eliminates the potential for other problems to occur, such as increased littering, unnecessary traffic, or suspicious activities.

Will a fence detract from the appearance of my property?

While visual appearance may not be of top concern to some business owners, adding a fence around the property can increase its curb appeal and enhance the visual appeal of a property when done correctly. It can help hide potential construction or eyesores on a dated building while also providing added security. The fencing around your business tells consumers and people driving by that you have something worth protecting and that you, as a business, care about the appearance of your business within the given area. Fencing options can vary in size, style, and color, so be sure to do some research before making a decision. You want to pick a fencing option that is fitting to both the needs of the property and the appearance of the land.

How much will my fence cost?

When looking to invest in a fence, you may notice the wide range of pricing options available. From affordable to high-end, fencing costs can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors. The material you choose, the labor price of the contractors you choose, the size of your yard, and other land components will all impact your total cost. With the right approach, fencing within your budget is still doable for most property owners. We are here to help break down the different things that can affect the price of fencing so that you can make the best decision for your personalized needs and specific budget.
